Construction Staging Area Time Extension - 1221 King Street West
On Thursday, January 26, 2023, Toronto and East York Community Council will consider a request for a time extension of the Construction Staging Area at 1221 King St West.
Lifetime Developments is currently constructing a 14-storey condominium building at 1221 King St W. The site is located on the southwest corner of King St W. and Dufferin St.
At its meeting on September 30, 2020, City Council approved the construction staging area on Dufferin St. from October 2, 2020 to April 30, 2022.
The developer has requested an extension of the duration of the construction staging area on Dufferin Street, from February 7, 2023 to September 30, 2023 as the site has experienced COVID-19 related construction delays.
The approval of the time extension would include a continuation of conditions previously required, including pressure wash or sweep of the construction site and adjacent sidewalks and roadways; enhanced lighting; appropriate signage and converging mirrors; and traffic control persons as required.

A settlement was reached between the City and applicant to construct a 14-storey building on the southwest corner and a 19-storey building on the northeast corner of King St W and Dufferin St. Construction is currently underway.
