The following is communication protocol that Transportation has in place for construction projects that they manage under the Surface Maintenance section of the Transportation Services.

1. In the beginning of the year Transportation Infrastructure Management group post the Approved Capital Works program and the related maps in City's web site for information. This list is sorted by wards. Click here to access the list.
   
   
2. A Ward Map with all approved Capital Works Project, Local Resurfacing Projects and Phases for Utility Cut re-instatement works with an estimated schedule is forwarded to the respective councillors for information.
   
   
3. For all types of construction related work, the affected residents are notified 48 hours before the start of the work. The notification cards are delivered by hand 48 hours prior to the start of the work by the contractor and is strictly enforced by the city staff.
   
   
4. From the start and during the construction season, updated Work Location reports are forwarded electronically to the councillors on a daily basis.
   
   
5. Project Information signs with 24hr contact information and contract details are placed on all every job sites at a conspicuous place and maintained in good  order until the required work is completed.
